Day 2
Nothing really happened on day 2. It was a Monday. Didn't go to school because Gaby had a big English test and I couldn't go. I lounged around and wrote my first blog post. Pai(Father in Portuguese)and I went and picked up Gaby at school and went and got my uniform. The unform consisted of a shirt withe my schools logo and name. I go to a school named Einstein. It is a very cool school and I regret the fact that RHHS is not more like Einstein. That's about it. In the night we visited Club Nosso. It is a recreation center where you can join teams for sports or lounge by the pool or what not. Gaby, Gui and I went to watch a Basketball game. It is a great place. It has a huge water slide. After that I went home and slept... That's all that happened on Day 2.
Day 3
So that was my first day of school. I go to a school named Einstein. It is a very cool school and I regret the fact that RHHS is not more like Einstein. Brazil is a country where the teachers move instead of the children. I like this more because I feel like the students bond more when they are together for the entire. I met a lot of people, they all told me their name. I promptly forgot all but a hand full of names. I met 2 people that spoke English very well and I told them about myself and such. The first class was Math. It was great. They were doing very simple math that takes no brain power. I didn't understand what the teacher was saying but I had fun any way. After Math was... I want to say History. I could be wrong. There was a break in the day where we went and sat on a bench. When I say "we" I mean Me, Gaby, Mariana, Mariana(Yes, 2 Marianas), and a boy whose name I have forgotten. The boy spoke English very well and taught me some words that I promptly forgot. I need to carry around a notebook or notepad so I can write down words and study them. After the recess, we went back for more classes. The school let out at around 12:30 and we went to the entrance and Waited for Pai(Father). A few guys came and the group conversed in Portuguese before there was an exchange of money and they left. They came back in a matter of minutes with frozen yogurt in a tube(Like a frozen GoGurt). They were quite tasty. After that, Pai came and picked us up and took us home. Later that night, I went to my first Rotary meeting and met 3 other exchange students. They all came from Mexico. There were 3 of them. 2 of them, the 2 girls, came from Hi Brandon the same town in Mexico. So that is pretty cool. I met a girl from Canada. She has been living in Brasil for 1 year and 1 month at the time of the blog post. After the Rotary club I went home and slept.
Day 4
Today was Day 4. Wednesday. I woke up and went to school. It was the same as the day before. After school Gaby and I got picked up. It was very chilled out. At around 8 Gaby, Gi' and I went to dinner with some people. Gaby and Gi' introduced me to a chap by the name of Alan. He has the most infectious smile. He knows German, Portuguese, English and is learning Mandarin and Russian. He lives one city over and he offered to show him his city. He also offered to take me to Tao, teach me some Portuguese, Bring me to a Tai Chi class, and bring me to his Mandarin class.
